Rhodos island in Dodecanece islands in Aegean Sea in Greece
The Village of Afandou
Afandou was deliberately built out of sight of the sea to protect it from marauding pirates .that said ,the main attraction of the resort holiday is the 4 kilometer- long blue flag Beach ,one of the finest expanses of pebbles and sand on the island of Rhodes.
The village square is the place to be day or night ,take time out and stop for a drink in one of the many cafe bars and just sit and watch the world go by. Afandou it self has a fun friendly atmosphere ,with a good selection of bars ,tavernas ,restaurants and supermarkets
Local Festival: Saint luka on the 18th October and Saint George on the 23rd April
